Here's a simple 10-step guide to buying a house

  2. Choose the best mortgage deal to suit your circumstances.

  4. Appoint a Scottish solicitor.  They will be able to guide you through the legal process and advise along the way.
  5.   8. In addition to this your solicitor will be arranging the contract and any other necessary paperwork in order to complete the missives (the binding contract).
