Edinburgh Solicitors Property Centre

A few words from ESPC’s new chief executive,
Malcolm Cannon

When I was preparing for my meeting with the ESPC Board in the hope of becoming the next Chief Executive, I asked friends and colleagues their perceptions of the business and brand. The results of this random and unscientific sample poll were very positive. For example, those who have experienced moving house in other areas as well as East Central Scotland all commented on how the ESPC service had made things easier for them. Being able to look in just one place (whether that is online, in a showroom or in print) to find their next home was seen as a major benefit.

This approach of making it simpler for the house seller and buyer is at the heart of what ESPC was set up for, what we do now and what we plan to do in the future. I will hold my hands up and admit that I am not coming into this role as an expert on the property market other than buying and selling my own homes in East Central Scotland and watching the house-related TV shows that you may tune into!

However, we have access to many experts in the property market. These experienced professionals sit within the ESPC member firms, the solicitor estate agents that are the logical starting point for any property transaction. These member firms also represent the traditional ‘Scottish’ way of selling houses and we must embrace and support what has proved to be a highly efficient method.

Within ESPC, we have a team that monitors movements in house prices, how many people are looking for properties and the overall level of market activity. We make this information available to our members so that they can give you an unrivalled view of the property market and assist you in choosing the best way to market your property or to buy a new one.

So whether you are selling a one-bedroom flat that is ideal for a first-time buyer or an established in its own grounds, there is an ESPC solicitor estate agent who can help you make your next move.

It is a great privilege to work for such an established brand and we must continue to build on our core strengths here at ESPC. These include our track record in helping people sell, making it easier for buyers and delivering a great service to all who use them. The challenge ahead is about improving what we do and ensuring that when it comes to property, ESPC remains the first place for house buyers and sellers to look.

I intend to provide regular updates on what is happening at ESPC alongside the information we issue on the property market. Hopefully, by giving you an insight into the business of ESPC, you will share your views and feedback which are so important as we look to enhance the service offered.

You can, in fact, help us right now by taking part in our online customer research. It will only take a few minutes and would be really valuable to us.
